Renault is developing a new-generation electric vehicle platform called RGEV Medium 2.0, targeting compact and mid-size vehicles and offering both all-electric and range-extended variants. The all-electric version delivers a WLTP-rated range of up to 466 miles (750 km), while the range-extended model—equipped with a small onboard gasoline generator—achieves an impressive 870-mile (1,400 km) driving range without refueling and emits less than 25 grams of CO₂ per 100 kilometers, meeting Europe’s stringent emissions regulations. The highly modular platform will support sedans, SUVs, and potentially MPVs if Renault revives that segment. It will also offer an all-wheel-drive configuration with a maximum towing capacity of 2 metric tons. All models will feature an 800V high-voltage architecture, enabling ultra-fast charging: starting in 2028, new vehicles launched in Europe will be able to add significant range in just 10 minutes. Renault aims to cut development costs by 40% through this platform and targets selling only hybrid or fully electric vehicles across Europe by 2030.
