Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) recently warned that the escalating conflict in the Middle East could have multi-phase impacts on its export operations and global supply chain. Bob Azamangkat, Deputy President Director of the company, stated that in the short term, adjustments to international shipping routes and heightened transportation risks have already led to potential delays in export deliveries. In the medium term, if the conflict drives up global oil prices, it could dampen automotive consumer demand in key importing countries. In the long term, the company is concerned that spillover effects from the conflict could disrupt the supply of rare metals and specialty chemicals essential for semiconductor production, thereby affecting the global automotive manufacturing system. TMMIN has not disclosed specific models affected or detailed countermeasures but emphasized it is closely monitoring the situation and confirmed that as of March 15, 2026, its local production and domestic sales in Indonesia remain unaffected.
