Chery Automobile recently released its first annual financial report since going public, revealing that its revenue in 2025 surpassed RMB 300 billion. Of this, overseas revenue reached RMB 157.419 billion, exceeding domestic revenue of RMB 142.868 billion for the first time. Qi Shilong, Executive Vice President of the company, stated that Chery’s overseas operations have entered a period of harvest, delivering higher overall profitability than its domestic business and significantly strengthening the company's operational foundation. Chery began its international expansion in 2001 and has since continuously advanced localized operations while tailoring product strategies to different markets. In 2025, the company exported 330,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs), accounting for 37% of its total NEV sales—a staggering 446% year-over-year increase. Its gross margin also surged from 0.4% to 8.8%. Industry analysts note that Chery, leveraging its early global footprint and precise timing in capitalizing on the window of opportunity for NEV exports, has successfully reshaped its revenue structure and emerged as a benchmark for Chinese automakers undergoing global transformation.
