On April 22, Cao Li, Senior Vice President of Leapmotor Technology, unveiled the results of a long-distance test drive for the D19 model, traveling from Hangzhou to Beijing. The test team departed Hangzhou at 6:30 a.m., carrying six passengers with luggage and approximately 35–40 kg (77–88 lbs) of equipment. The vehicle’s air conditioning was set to 22°C on fan speed level two throughout the journey, and all equipment was powered directly by the car. They arrived in Beijing around 11:00 p.m. the same day, covering an actual distance of nearly 1,300 km. For the range-extended version: - It first traveled 342 km in "maximum pure-electric" mode, with the dashboard showing a consumption equivalent to 460 km, resulting in a pure-electric range achievement rate of 74.3%. - After switching to range-extender (low-battery) mode, it covered an additional 490.7 km with a fuel consumption of 6.5 L/100 km. - In total, the vehicle traveled 832.7 km in real-world conditions, while the dashboard indicated a total range of 1,001 km, yielding an overall range achievement rate of 83%. For the pure electric version: - It achieved an actual driving range of 429.5 km, compared to a dashboard-indicated range of 519 km, resulting in a range achievement rate of 82.8%. During the test, several hours into a live broadcast, the AR navigation interface on the vehicle’s central display malfunctioned while driving on a highway—showing only the vehicle model while critical information such as lane markings and surrounding vehicles disappeared. Cao Li later responded that this was a brief rendering glitch in the navigation interface during manual driving, which the team quickly resolved. He emphasized that no accident occurred.
