BYD Sealion 08 Debuts at Beijing Auto Show: First Flash-Charging PHEV SUV with Second-Gen Blade Battery

The BYD Sealion 08 made its official debut at the Beijing Auto Show as the brand's first plug-in hybrid SUV equipped with flash charging technology. The new model adopts the latest family design language, similar to that of the Seal 08, and is positioned as a flagship large six-seater SUV with a wheelbase of 3 meters. In terms of specifications, the Sealion 08 features flash charging technology, second-generation Blade Battery, Yunniu-A dual-chamber air suspension, rear-wheel steering, and the "God’s Eye" 5.0 advanced driver-assistance system. As part of BYD’s Ocean Network Series 8, this vehicle line is the world’s first series to standardize flash charging technology across all variants. The plug-in hybrid version offers a CLTC pure-electric range of 400 km, while the all-electric variant achieves up to 900 km. Official details regarding the Sealion 08’s launch date and pricing have not yet been announced.
