Recently, a screenshot circulated online claiming that Tesla Vice President Tao Lin announced that FSD (Full Self-Driving, a supervised driver-assistance system) will officially launch in China at midnight on May 1, offering eligible vehicle owners a three-month free trial, after which the subscription price will be RMB 699 per month. In response, Tesla customer service stated that the content of the screenshot is false and that there is currently no such information; all updates should be based on official Tesla announcements. According to publicly available information, Tesla released its Q1 2026 financial results on April 23, reporting revenue of USD 22.4 billion (approximately RMB 153.375 billion), a 16% year-over-year increase. The company also said it had received approval for its driver-assistance system in the Netherlands in April, calling this a critical step toward securing approvals in other EU countries. Tesla added that it is actively working to bring the system to the Chinese market as soon as possible.
