Chery Automobile files recall of 53,882 Tiggo 5x and Omoda series vehicles

Recently, Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Auto Products and the Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Auto Products, filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation. The recall number is S2026M0146V. Starting from November 27, 2026, Chery Automobile will recall certain Chery Tiggo 5x and Omoda series vehicles manufactured between June 6, 2022 and December 31, 2023, totaling 53,882 units. For some vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to issues in the rear axle manufacturing process, the rear axle trailing arm and sleeve may have poor welding. In extreme cases, the weld at this position may fail and detach, causing loss of wheel control, increasing the risk of vehicle accidents, and posing a safety hazard. Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. will inspect the production date code of the rear axle free of charge for vehicles within the scope of the recall. If the rear axle belongs to the defective batch, it will be replaced to eliminate the safety hazard.
