Chery Automobile announced that its premium SUV, the Exeed EX7, will become the world’s first mass-produced vehicle equipped with aerospace-grade electromechanical brake-by-wire technology (EMB). This technology eliminates traditional hydraulic systems, using electrical signals to directly actuate braking, achieving millisecond-level response times and higher braking precision—significantly shortening stopping distances. Combined with the comprehensively upgraded Feiyu Chassis 3.0, the EX7 delivers enhanced handling stability and active safety performance. The project, developed over three years, has overcome key engineering challenges related to reliability and precise control. The EX7 is set to make its official debut in the first quarter of this year. Previously known as the ET7, the model will be offered in both extended-range and all-electric variants. The all-electric version features a battery capacity of 97.682 kWh, delivering a maximum CLTC range of 726 kilometers.
