This hybrid version will be powered by GM’s all-new 6.7-liter LS6 V8 engine paired with a front-axle electric motor, delivering a combined output of 720 horsepower—surpassing both the E-Ray’s 655 hp and the Z06’s 670 hp. A non-hybrid Grand Sport will also be introduced simultaneously. Following the naming logic of the ZR1X, the “X” denotes a plug-in hybrid system. This move reflects automakers’ efforts to balance performance and efficiency through hybrid technology, as high-performance hybrid sports cars emerge as a new direction despite cooling demand in the pure electric vehicle market.
