smart has unveiled design sketches and detailed images of the Smart #2 prototype concept car. Compared to the original fortwo, the new model features a more rounded silhouette and a matte white and gold two-tone color scheme. It retains the fortwo’s iconic four-wheel-at-the-corners layout and rear-wheel-drive configuration, positioning itself as a “fully electric two-seater city car,” distinct from smart’s current SUV lineup—including the #1, #3, and #5 models. Designed by the Mercedes-Benz design team, the vehicle will initially launch as a two-door hardtop, with a convertible version potentially added in the future. The Smart #2 prototype will make its global debut at the Beijing Auto Show on April 24, where smart will also commence pre-sales of the Smart #6 EHD model.
