The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, equipped with the Manthey performance package and driven by test driver Lars Kern, set a new lap record for production all-electric vehicles at the Nürburgring Nordschleife with a time of 6 minutes 55.553 seconds. This result is 12 seconds faster than the standard Taycan Turbo GT, over 3 seconds quicker than the BYD Yangwang U9 Xtreme (6:59.157), and more than 9 seconds ahead of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra (7:04.957). Xiaomi Auto CTO Hu Zhengnan congratulated Porsche on its achievement via social media, stating that the track only believes in technology, capability, and fortune—and that only true champions deserve admiration. He emphasized, “It’s the fierce competition of chasing and being chased that makes racing exciting,” and expressed hope that Xiaomi Auto would one day return to the Nürburgring’s T13 timing board. Earlier, during the Beijing Auto Show, Hu Zhengnan said Xiaomi Auto would currently focus on its existing products and develop dedicated models tailored to different global market demands in the future. Xiaomi founder Lei Jun revealed that Xiaomi Auto plans to begin overseas expansion in 2027, with Germany as its first international market.
