In 2018, Nissan partnered with Italian design firm Italdesign to launch the GT-R50, commemorating the 50th anniversaries of both brands. Originally planned as a limited global production run of just 50 units, the project was terminated early due to pandemic-related supply chain disruptions and its high price tag, ultimately resulting in only 19 completed vehicles. Based on the GT-R Nismo, the GT-R50 retains its chassis, body structure, and powertrain while receiving a comprehensive exterior redesign. Key changes include a lowered roofline, revised proportions, extensive use of newly designed body panels, and exposed carbon-fiber trim with a distinctive blue-tinted weave. Under the hood, it features a heavily reworked 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine equipped with turbos derived from GT3 race cars, larger intercoolers, and an upgraded drivetrain, delivering a maximum output of 710 horsepower (720 PS). Additional enhancements include reinforced transmission components, custom Bilstein dampers, and 21-inch carbon-fiber wheels. The GT-R50 headed for auction is an unregistered new car with just 137 miles (221 kilometers) on the odometer, remaining virtually in factory-original condition. Japan’s Bingo Auction estimates its hammer price between ¥145 million and ¥155 million (approximately RMB 6.108 million to RMB 6.529 million).
