Volkswagen Group China has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Orbis Auto, its authorized local distributor in Kazakhstan, officially launching vehicles produced by FAW-Volkswagen into the Kazakh market. This partnership aims to leverage localized vehicle manufacturing capacity in China to tap into Central Asia’s high-growth automotive consumer market and establish a comprehensive localized sales and service network. The initial lineup includes models from both the Volkswagen and Jetta brands. Under the Volkswagen brand, the offerings comprise two sedans—the Bora and Magotan—and two SUVs—the Tayron and Talagon. The Jetta brand will introduce three models: the VA7 sedan and the VS7 and VS8 SUVs, covering key segments in both the sedan and SUV markets. All vehicles are manufactured at FAW-Volkswagen’s production facilities in China. To better suit Kazakhstan’s road conditions and customer preferences, Volkswagen China has carried out targeted calibration and tuning of these models to enhance their local market adaptability. This entry into Kazakhstan follows Volkswagen’s launch in Uzbekistan this past June and marks another step in the company’s strategy to expand exports leveraging its China-based production capacity.
