On August 3, XPeng Motors announced the launch of the G9L, a large five-seater all-electric SUV positioned as the “Global Large Five-Seater Tech Flagship and the Benchmark for Tech Excellence in the RMB 300,000 Segment.” Built on XPeng’s flagship GX safety architecture, the G9L features standard aviation-grade redundant safety design and was developed to meet the stringent five-star safety standards of four major global regulatory bodies. The G9L debuts XPeng’s proprietary full-body AI adaptive seating technology, which the company claims can accommodate users of diverse body types worldwide. It also achieved the fastest麋鹿 test (moose test) result in its class, underscoring its superior chassis dynamics and handling performance. The vehicle will be equipped with the first major upgraded version of XPeng’s second-generation VLA system and an 800V ultra-fast charging platform, enabling a claimed range replenishment of 450 kilometers in just nine minutes. Additional features include a dual-zone, dual-door, antibacterial air-cooled onboard refrigerator; zero-gravity seats; an intelligent quad-motor executive center console; AI-powered digital projection headlights; a trunk capacity of 1,152 liters; 22-inch extra-wide asymmetric tires; and intelligent power-operated doors on all four sides. The entire lineup comes standard with XPeng’s flagship intelligent chassis and delivers a total effective computing power of 2,250 TOPS. Previously, the all-wheel-drive variant of the G9L completed its official product declaration in July. The vehicle measures 5,120 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,782/1,788/1,795 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,100 mm and a curb weight of either 2,720 kg or 2,740 kg. It is rated for five passengers and has a top speed of 200 km/h. Powering the G9L is a dual-motor setup: the front motor delivers a continuous output of 50 kW and a peak output of 160 kW, while the rear motor offers 110 kW continuously and peaks at 270 kW, resulting in a combined system output of 430 kW.
