On the evening of November 3, Geely held the launch event for its new-generation methanol-electric hybrid technology and the Geely Galaxy Starshine 6 EF, officially unveiling the Geely Galaxy Starshine 6 EF. The new vehicle is positioned as a methanol-electric hybrid family sedan, with a limited-time launch renewal price of 76,800–96,800 yuan. Pricing for each variant is as follows: the 130km Luxury Edition EF is priced at a guide price of 86,800 yuan, with a limited-time launch renewal price of 76,800 yuan; the 230km Premium Edition EF is priced at a guide price of 96,800 yuan, with a limited-time launch renewal price of 86,800 yuan; the 230km Flagship Edition EF is priced at a guide price of 106,800 yuan, with a limited-time launch renewal price of 96,800 yuan. In terms of powertrain, the vehicle is equipped with a methanol plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5L methanol engine and an electric motor. The engine has a maximum power of 93kW, and the battery uses lithium iron phosphate material. The vehicle supports cold starts at nearly -40°C and 350Bar in-cylinder direct injection technology, supports any 0–100% ratio of methanol and gasoline in the same fuel tank, and has a refueling time of 3 minutes. Under CLTC conditions, the pure electric range is 230km, the combined range with a full tank of methanol and full charge is 1,250km, and the combined range with a full tank of gasoline and full charge is 1,880km. According to published data, 7,000 vehicles have already covered 80 million kilometers of road testing. The body dimensions are 4806×1886×1490mm, with a wheelbase of 2756mm, a space utilization rate of 83.5%, maximum front-row headroom of 970mm, rear-row lateral space of 1480mm, a trunk capacity of 609L, and a total of 27 storage spaces throughout the vehicle. The seats feature 9-layer sandwich construction with 20mm memory foam filling, and support front-row ventilation, heating, and power adjustment. The exterior is equipped with 17-inch wheels and offers four body colors: Silk Silver, Obsidian Black, Inkstone Gray, and Jade White; the interior offers two color schemes: Winter Warm Brown and Misty Rain Ink. In terms of chassis, the vehicle features an AI chassis with a digital tuning solution, supports CST 2.0 full-speed-range comfort braking, a 0–100km/h braking distance of 36.3m, a 40–80km/h acceleration time of 3.4s, and an 80–120km/h acceleration time of 4.6s. In terms of intelligence, the new vehicle adopts the GEEA 3.0 electronic and electrical architecture, is equipped with a 14.6-inch central control screen and a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster, and comes pre-installed with the Galaxy Flyme Auto 2 smart cockpit system, supporting phone-vehicle connectivity, AI voice, boundless space, 540° panoramic view, remote phone control, parking guard, and other functions. In terms of body structure, the new vehicle adopts the GEA global intelligent new energy architecture and the Star Armor cage body, with high-strength steel accounting for 71.6%, and is equipped with a clover force-dissipation structure and a 6-horizontal, 4-vertical body frame. The cabin comes standard with CN95 air conditioning filters across all variants.
