WM EX5 caught on fire in Wenzhou

At 9 am on September 23, one WM EX5, an electric compact crossover SUV that is manufactured by the Chinese NEV manufacturer WM Motor (Weltmeister), caught fire on a road in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. Netcom was informed that at 11:13, WM Motor issued an official statement saying that the company contacted the owner of the vehicle immediately after the fire incident and sent a professional team to the scene of the accident to assist. The company clarified that the vehicle battery pack did not cause fire or explosion during the accident, nor did it cause personal injury or death.

The statement shows that after the accident, WM Motor contacted the owner at the first time and sent a professional team to the accident scene to assist. According to the owner, the smoke began appearing around the center console and front seats in the vehicle’s interior. During the process of looking for the fire extinguisher, the interior of the vehicle began to burn, and an open flame appeared and gradually spread, causing the whole vehicle to burn.

After the fire department arrived, the open flame was quickly extinguished. The battery pack loaded in the vehicle did not cause fire or explosion during the accident, and the accident did not cause any casualties or other property damage.
