Dongfeng Renault Captur Unveiled

As the fourth Chinese model introduced by Dongfeng Renault, the Captur made its debut in September this year. The pre-sale price announced previously ranges from 110,000 to 150,000 RMB yuan., IIA learned from Dongfeng Renault that the Captur will be officially launched on October 25. The new car is in a design of Renault's "Life Flower" and is equipped with LED headlights. The new car is powered by a 1.3T four-cylinder turbocharged engine developed jointly with Daimler.

The family-style C-type daytime running lights are embedded in the new eagle-wing front end, making the new car look more powerful and layered, and the front end of the vehicle is highly recognizable. Moreover, the 18-inch two-color rim of the new car has a diamond-cut design, and the larger front grille and the iconic Renault-studded LOGO bring in a younger appearance of the car.

The new car has a length, width and height of 4,263 mm, 1,797 mm, 1,593 mm and a wheelbase of 2,638 mm. The Captur is available in 11 dual-color body combinations, and all models are equipped with shark fin antennas. Moreover, the new vehicle's submerged hood, slightly tilted rear roof and raised front and rear fenders make the body more streamlined and have a drag coefficient as low as 0.33.

The Captur's interior is designed in a brown-and-black combination with a floating 9.3-inch multi-function color LCD touch screen that integrates navigation, video, radio, and car phone. The 7-inch TFT color LCD instrument panel can be customized in four display modes. Four different background colors can be linked to the eight color atmosphere lights in the car to provide passengers with a comfortable driving space.

The Captur is powered by a 1.3T four-cylinder turbocharged engine jointly developed by the Renault-Nissan Alliance and Daimler. According to the information obtained by the IIA in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, PRC, the engine is expected to be available in two different versions. The maximum power of the low-power version is 96 kW, while the high-power version has a maximum power of 115 kW. The combined fuel consumption is 5.7 liters and 5.6 liters per 100 km. What’s more. the engine-matched transmission system is a 7-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox.
