Ford BEV “Mustang” to debut on Nov. 17

In the context of turning to electrification among global car companies, Ford's traditional American sports car Mustang has also been affected by this trend. IIA learned from Ford that the brand will launch a new crossover pure electric SUV on November 17. It is reported that the new car’s design is similar to Mustang, and maybe named Mach E. The automaker claims that the standard version has a cruising range of 484 km, while that of the performance version will reach 600 km. It is estimated that the starting price after the launch in 2020 will be about USD 40,000.

Compared with the current Mustang, the new car’s light group continues the design of the sports car, and the upper and lower grilles have also expanded in width. As can be seen from the picture, the bulge of the front hood of the new car is more exaggerated, highlighting the size that is different from other sports cars. The new car adopts a double waistline design and a rear fixed tail, which continues the sporty feel of a sports car. And the wheel size is upgraded either.

The new car will be built on the same C2 platform as the new Focus. In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with an electric motor on each of the front and rear axles. The cruising range under WLTP conditions is 482 kilometers. It is reported that the price of the car will be about USD 40,000, and it will compete with Tesla Model Y.
