IIA learned from SAIC-Volkswagen on Thursday that the new small SUV - TACQUA made its debut with a Chinese name “探影(Tan Ying in Pinyin)”. The appearance of the new car basically continues the design of the overseas version of T-Cross, which only changes in the details. The interior is designed in a popular family style with a new style of steering wheel. The new car will have 1.5L and 1.4T, two different power versions. The new car will meet with consumers in early December.
The new car adopts the same design style as the overseas version of T-Cross. The multi-bank grille on the front end is decorated with chrome trim. The lower grille connects the fog lights on both sides to outline the X shape, making the front end look domineering. The ring-shaped chrome finish around the fog lights makes it even more stylish.
The new car has a compact three-dimensional line, which makes the new car look sporty when paired with large-size two-color wheels. The new car has a length, width and height of 4,194 mm, 1,760 mm, 1,601 mm and a wheelbase of 2,651 mm. Compared with the T-Cross, the new car is shorter but higher.
The tail of the new car also continues the design style of the overseas version of T-Cross. The LED taillights are designed with a light strip and added a large area of black material to set off the futuristic look of the new car. The bumper under the rear of the car is made of black material and the trapezoidal silvery trim strip makes the visual effect more fashionable. In addition, the new car features a hidden exhaust pipe design.
The new car interior adopts the latest family design of Volkswagen. A new style of three steering wheels has been refitted with a silver trim accents around the multi-function buttons. A 10.2-inch LCD dashboard is set behind the steering wheel, which is matched with the large touch screen of the center console, making the entire interior full of technology.
The new car will be available in two different power versions. Among them, the 1.5L engine has a maximum power of 83 kW and a fuel consumption of 5.9 liters per 100 kilometers. The 1.4T engine has a maximum power of 110 kW and a fuel consumption of 5.8 liters per 100 kilometers. The transmission system is expected to match the Aisin 6-speed automatic transmission or the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
