Beijing Hyundai's 10th generation Sonata official pic released

Since the birth of Hyundai Sonata, nine generations have been launched, and the overseas version of the tenth generation Sonata has been officially released. On March 2, 2020, IIA obtained a group of domestically produced tenth-generation Sonata official pictures from Beijing Hyundai. The new car uses many design elements of the modern Le Fil Rouge concept car, providing two power options of 1.5T and 2.0T. The transmission system will match 7DCT and 8AT gearboxes. The tenth generation of Sonata will be officially listed in the second quarter of 2020.

The front face of the tenth generation Sonata uses a family-sized large-size grille. The headlights are designed with an irregular shape, and LED light sources are added inside and "blackened". The lower bumper is chrome-plated, and the fog lamp areas on both sides are changed to air intakes.

The tenth-generation Sonata follows many of the design elements of the modern Le Fil Rouge concept car, such as the new car’s hidden gradient daytime running lights and the “Dynamic Lasso” styling that extends from the front fenders to the windows. In addition, the body uses diamond cutting elements in many places, including the center of the alloy rim, the handle of the wiper lever and the front grille.

The tenth-generation Sonata tail has sharp edges and corners, and the duckling shape above the tailgate is more prominent. "SONATA" English logo makes the new car more exquisite. The iconic "C" light strip at the rear of the car and the shape of the double-sided chrome exhaust pipe add sportiness to the new car. In terms of size, the wheelbase and length of the new car have been increased by 50 mm and 55 mm, respectively, compared with overseas models.

The tenth-generation Sonata pursues a balance between driving speed and cool styling in its design. The relatively low overall styling, a modestly raised rear height, and a downward-dipping hood echo the aerodynamic performance. The wide front grille and large heat vent make the grille fully function. Twelve guide fins on both sides of the trunk lid enhance aerodynamics.

In terms of power, the tenth-generation Sonata offers two turbocharged engines with different displacements of 1.5T and 2.0T. According to the information previously obtained from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of PRC, the new vehicle's 1.5T engine has a net power of 125 kilowatts, a maximum speed of 210 kilometers per hour, and a combined fuel consumption of 5.8 liters per 100 kilometers. The 2.0T engine has a net power of 176.5 kilowatts and a maximum speed of with an hour of 240 kilometers, the comprehensive fuel consumption of 100 kilometers is 6.8 liters.
