During CES 2026, Euisun Chung, Executive Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, held a closed-door meeting with Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, to discuss deepening collaboration in the field of autonomous driving. The meeting followed NVIDIA’s unveiling of its new AI platform, Alpamayo, designed to endow vehicles with human-like perception and reasoning capabilities. NVIDIA announced that its Drive AV software will debut in the Mercedes-Benz CLA in 2026, offering L2++ point-to-point driver assistance, with phased rollouts planned across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Although Mercedes-Benz is the first partner, Hyundai has clearly expressed interest in joining, with its Vice Chairman describing such cooperation as “feasible.” Mr. Chung also toured Hyundai’s largest-ever CES booth to review its AI and robotics integration strategy and visited exhibition booths of Samsung, LG, and Doosan to explore potential collaborations in areas including robotic vacuum technology, AI-powered cockpits, and hydrogen energy.
