SVOLT Unveils Ultra-Fast Charging Tech on Jan. 13: Enables 10-Minute Charge for $15K EVs

SVOLT Energy’s 6th Battery Day will be held on January 13, during which the company will announce that its 10-minute fast-charging technology will be introduced to electric vehicles priced around RMB 100,000, challenging the long-standing perception that models in this price segment charge slowly. The company’s previously launched “Short Blade Battery” supports 6C fast charging, enabling a charge from 10% to 80% in just 8.5 minutes. SVOLT also plans to fully implement end-stage fast-charging technology across its mass-produced batteries by 2025, significantly accelerating charging speeds during the 80%–100% state-of-charge phase. Additionally, SVOLT has already established a 2.3 GWh semi-solid-state battery production line. Its first-generation cells, with an energy density of 270 Wh/kg, are about to enter pilot mass production and have already secured定点 (定点 means "nomination" or "designation" in automotive contexts; here it implies official selection/approval) for projects from European automakers and a Chinese central state-owned enterprise’s eVTOL initiative. The company aims to begin mass delivery of semi-solid-state batteries in 2026 and launch pouch cells with an energy density of 450 Wh/kg by 2028.
