According to the latest MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) vehicle announcement catalog, BYD is set to launch an updated version of its Seagull model. While retaining the current exterior design, the new model features a significant upgrade in intelligent driving capabilities. It will offer an optional LiDAR sensor and be equipped with the "God’s Eye B" (DiPilot 300) system, adding urban navigation assistance functionality on top of the existing triple-camera and millimeter-wave radar setup. In terms of powertrain, the electric motor’s output has been increased from 55 kW to 60 kW, while the top speed remains at 130 km/h. The vehicle continues to use BYD’s LFP Blade Battery. Currently, the 2025 BYD Seagull Intelligent Driving Edition is priced between RMB 69,800 and RMB 85,800. If the updated model maintains this price range while offering the LiDAR option, it would mark the first time advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) with LiDAR become available under the RMB 100,000 threshold. As BYD’s most entry-level model, this move could signal the company’s intention to roll out LiDAR-equipped intelligent driving systems across its entire vehicle lineup in the future.
