Kia has recently launched its all-new compact all-electric hatchback, the EV2, in overseas markets. Positioned as an urban commuter vehicle, it emphasizes practicality and convenience. The EV2 measures 4,060 mm in length and 1,575 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,565 mm—shorter than the Volvo EX30—to enhance maneuverability and ease of parking in city environments. The EV2 is offered with two battery options: a standard version featuring a 42 kWh battery delivering a WLTP-rated range of 317 km, and a long-range variant equipped with a 61 kWh battery offering up to 448 km of WLTP range. The long-range model supports fast charging, replenishing from 10% to 80% in under 30 minutes. Inside, the cabin features fabric-like materials and includes dual 12.3-inch displays, physical buttons for key functions, wireless charging, and three USB-C ports (supporting up to 100W fast charging). The vehicle is available in both four-seat and five-seat configurations, offering 958 mm of rear legroom. With the rear seats folded forward, the trunk capacity expands to 403 liters. Production of the new EV2 is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of this year.
