Xiaomi YU7 Debuts in Top 5; NEVs Claim 17 Spots on December Sales Chart

According to data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), 27 passenger car models recorded wholesale sales exceeding 20,000 units in December 2025, with new energy vehicles (NEVs) dominating 17 of those spots. The Xiaomi SU7—making its debut in the top five with sales of 39,089 units—surpassed expectations. Positioned as a premium high-performance SUV, the SU7 is priced between RMB 253,500 and RMB 329,900. It features Xiaomi’s self-developed 800V silicon carbide high-voltage platform, delivering a maximum CLTC range of 835 kilometers, an ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.245 Cd, and dual zero-gravity seats. The top four best-selling models were the Tesla Model Y (66,189 units), BYD Song (55,107 units), BYD Seagull (44,626 units), and Geely Xingyuan (41,619 units). Beyond the top five, other NEVs such as the BYD Qin and Fangchengbao Bao 7 also delivered strong performances. While conventional fuel-powered models like the Honda Accord, CR-V, and Nissan Sylphy made it onto the list, their overall share remained relatively small.
