Facing downward pressure in the home furnishing industry, Red Star Macalline has opted to break through against the tide by officially entering the automotive retail sector. Since piloting a used car trading center in 2020, the company launched its "3100 Strategy" in 2024—aiming to develop one million square meters of automotive retail space within three years—and has already established automotive-themed venues in multiple cities including Wuhan, Chongqing, and Kunming. Leveraging its nationwide network of over 300 self-operated malls, which offer spatial and cost advantages, along with its base of high-net-worth home furnishing customers and its integrated "People-Car-Home" ecosystem concept, Red Star Macalline is building an "omnichannel automotive lifestyle complex" that combines new cars, used cars, after-sales services, and experiential offerings. To date, the company has partnered with more than 30 automotive brands, with automotive retail space totaling 320,000 square meters, and plans to expand to one million square meters within three years, exploring a new cross-sector growth path for home furnishing enterprises.
