Global automotive parts giant Faurecia recently signed a new agreement with Jiaxing National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone to launch a new automotive seat frame project. The project will primarily supply intelligent seat frames and health-focused comfort systems for brands including Leapmotor, Zhiji, and Chery. With a planned capacity sufficient to meet the needs of 2.879 million vehicles annually, the facility is expected to begin phased production starting in May 2026 and generate an additional RMB 3.21 billion in output value within five years. Since establishing its Jiaxing subsidiary in 2021, Faurecia has supplied seat components to automakers such as Li Auto, Ford, and Volkswagen, with its core seat frame project exceeding RMB 2 billion in annual output value for two consecutive years. This latest expansion will transform Faurecia’s Jiaxing base from a manufacturing center into an integrated hub encompassing R&D, manufacturing, and sales, further strengthening its presence in the Yangtze River Delta region and the new energy vehicle supply chain.
