The first production unit of the iCAR V27—the debut extended-range electric SUV from Chery’s iCAR brand—officially rolled off the production line on January 12 and is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of this year. Positioned as a smart, rugged, five-seat midsize SUV, the V27 continues the brand’s signature “boxy” design language. It measures 4,909 mm in length, 1,976 mm in width, and 1,855/1,894 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,910 mm. Exterior highlights include a two-tone front grille, oval-shaped headlights, an externally mounted spare tire, and black trim accents. Inside, the cabin features a T-shaped dashboard, a floating central touchscreen, and physical buttons. Powering the V27 is a 1.5-liter turbocharged range-extender system, with the engine delivering a maximum output of 105 kW. The vehicle will be offered in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants. The AWD version boasts a combined system output of 335 kW, offers a CLTC-rated pure-electric range of 200 km, and is expected to achieve a total driving range exceeding 1,000 km.
