Recently, numerous owners have filed collective complaints on Chezhizhengwang (a Chinese vehicle quality complaint platform) regarding the 2025 BAIC Arcfox T1, alleging that the underbody battery area lacks protective shielding, leaving high-voltage wiring harnesses and connectors fully exposed. Owners are concerned that in wet, bumpy, or muddy road conditions, these exposed wires could age or sustain damage more easily, potentially triggering thermal runaway in the battery pack or even fires—posing serious safety hazards. Some owners reported that while local dealerships acknowledged the issue and offered to install protective plates retroactively, they have not provided a clear timeline for doing so. Consumers suspect the manufacturer deliberately omitted this safety component to cut costs. In response, BAIC New Energy stated it has forwarded the issue to the responsible department for handling but has yet to issue a public statement. Launched in September 2023 with a price range of RMB 62,800 to 87,800, the Arcfox T1 has become a best-selling model thanks to its high cost-performance ratio, recording over 17,000 units sold in December alone and emerging as the brand's flagship vehicle.
