On January 12, the Zhengzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce issued a notice officially launching the 2026 "Trade-in for New Consumer Goods" subsidy program. Individual consumers purchasing six categories of household appliances—refrigerators, washing machines, televisions, air conditioners, computers, and water heaters—with top-tier energy or water efficiency ratings from designated retailers will receive a subsidy of 15% of the purchase price, capped at RMB 1,500 per item, with a limit of one subsidized item per product category. Additionally, consumers buying four types of digital products—smartphones, tablets, smartwatches or fitness bands, and smart glasses—with a single-item price not exceeding RMB 6,000 will also be eligible for a 15% subsidy, capped at RMB 500 per item, with a limit of one subsidized item per category.
