Recently, online rumors claimed that "Shenzhen will become the first city nationwide to systematically implement parking fees for electric bikes starting January 2026, with pilot sites including Pingzhou Metro Station in Xixiang, Bao'an District, charging 2 yuan per day." This rumor has drawn widespread public attention. After verification, relevant Shenzhen authorities confirmed that, as of now, no policy or notice regarding pilot programs for electric bike parking fees has been issued, nor is there any plan to designate Shenzhen as the "first city in China to charge for electric bike parking." The online claims appear to have confused actual parking fee practices for electric bicycles in other regions and are therefore false. Authorities have reminded the public not to believe or spread information from unofficial sources and to rely solely on official government announcements for accurate information.
