SAIC Volkswagen recently released official images of its all-new flagship SUV, the ID.ERA 9X, undergoing extreme cold-weather testing. The vehicle has already been filed with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and is positioned as the largest SUV in Volkswagen’s history, measuring 5,207 mm in length with a wheelbase of 3,070 mm, and featuring a spacious six-seat layout. In terms of design, the ID.ERA 9X showcases a flush side profile, hidden door handles, and an integrated “Cosmic Light Wing” light bar, continuing the digital design language of Volkswagen’s ID. family. Powering the SUV is a 1.5T range extender (with a maximum output of 105 kW) paired with a 65.2 kWh battery pack, delivering a CLTC-rated all-electric range exceeding 400 km—effectively meeting both long-distance travel and electric driving needs.
