In 2025, BMW became the best-selling luxury brand in the U.S. with sales of 388,897 vehicles, up 4.7% year-over-year. Lexus followed closely behind, selling 370,260 units, while Mercedes-Benz ranked third with 303,200 units sold—a 6.6% decline from the previous year. Cadillac delivered a standout performance, increasing sales by 8.3% to 173,515 units, surpassing Audi (164,942 units, down sharply by 16%) to claim fourth place. In the electric vehicle (EV) segment, EVs accounted for 28.3% of Cadillac’s sales and 10.9% of BMW’s. U.S. federal EV tax credits expired in September, leading to a noticeable drop in EV sales toward year-end. Infiniti’s sales plummeted to 52,846 units—less than half of its pre-pandemic levels—while Genesis, Kia’s premium brand, continued to outperform Infiniti with sales of 82,331 units, up 9.8%. Mercedes-Benz plans to launch new models to reach its annual sales target of 400,000 units, while Audi is considering building a U.S. factory to mitigate tariff pressures.
