On January 6, 2026, Qualcomm and ZF announced a collaboration to launch a new-generation ADAS solution based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Ride™ chips and ZF’s ProAI supercomputing platform. The solution supports functionalities ranging from basic regulatory requirements to SAE Level 3 autonomous driving, featuring modular and scalable architecture adaptable to various vehicle models and electronic architectures. Combining Qualcomm’s strengths in computing and vision technologies with ZF’s expertise in real-time in-vehicle perception, the system supports over-the-air (OTA) updates and can be deployed as a domain controller, zonal controller, or central computing platform. Notably, ZF had already announced in December 2025 its agreement to sell its ADAS business to Harman for €1.5 billion, with the transaction expected to close in the second half of 2026. Meanwhile, Mobileye also announced it has secured an order from a U.S. automaker, with its EyeQ6H chip set to power a Surround ADAS system enabling hands-off highway driving. Deliveries are projected to exceed 19 million units. Currently, most mainstream ADAS solutions rely on camera and millimeter-wave radar combinations without incorporating lidar, reflecting ongoing divergence in the industry’s technological pathways.
