Xiaomi Auto recently restructured its sales organization by eliminating dedicated sales positions for its premium SU7 Ultra model. Starting from the end of January, sales authorization for this model has been opened to all store sales staff. Former dedicated sales personnel were given the option to either leave the company (with N+1 severance compensation) or transition to general sales roles covering the entire vehicle lineup. The company stated that this move aims to optimize the customer service experience and denied reports claiming the "disbandment of a specialized team." At launch, the SU7 Ultra had its own independent sales team, offering high-end services such as track driving training and racing license certification. However, sales have steadily declined since the second half of last year, with only 45 units sold in December. Dedicated sales staff struggled to convert leads into orders, while general sales representatives often steered customers toward more affordable models, diminishing the value of the specialized role. Currently, there are only around 30 dedicated sales staff nationwide, most of whom have already been reassigned. Xiaomi is now focusing on its core models and targeting annual sales of 550,000 vehicles by 2026, with three new models slated for launch this year.
