During today's live stream, Lei Jun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, virtually guided viewers through Xiaomi's automotive technology exhibition hall and customization service center, with a special focus on the new-generation Xiaomi SU7. Lei revealed that the vehicle’s flush-mounted door handles already comply ahead of schedule with the mandatory national standard "Safety Technical Requirements for Automotive Door Handles," which will take effect on January 1, 2027. According to the standard, each door must be equipped with at least one mechanical interior door handle. To enhance reliability, the new SU7 features a mechanically redundant design for its door handles, effectively addressing previous issues such as malfunctioning in low temperatures and high failure rates commonly associated with flush-mounted handles.
