On the eve of the Lunar New Year (February 10, 2026), Lei Jun announced during a live stream from Xiaomi’s automobile factory that production of the first-generation SU7 has officially ended, with nearly 370,000 units delivered to date. The all-new SU7 features comprehensive upgrades across the board: standard equipment now includes a 2,200 MPa ultra-high-strength steel roll cage, nine airbags, LiDAR, 4D millimeter-wave radar, and a computing platform delivering 700 TOPS of processing power. It also debuts Xiaomi’s self-developed end-to-end intelligent driving system, Xiaom i HAD, and already complies ahead of schedule with China’s new 2027 national safety standard for door handles. The new model further upgrades its motor, battery, chassis, and tires, and has successfully passed cold-weather testing at minus 39°C. Alongside the launch, Lei Jun introduced the “Worry-Free Spring Festival Travel Guarantee,” promising reimbursement for transportation and accommodation expenses if the vehicle breaks down or becomes stranded. This accelerated product refresh aims to strengthen Xiaomi Auto’s competitiveness in an intensely contested market, reinforce the SU7’s positioning as a “driver’s car,” and establish a dual-product lineup alongside the popular SUV YU7—supporting the company’s annual sales target of 550,000 vehicles.
