At 2:48 a.m. on March 9, a traffic accident occurred at a parking lot beneath the Qiutao Road–Feiyunjiang Road overpass in Hangzhou. A Tesla lost control, crashed through the barrier gate, and sped into the parking lot, colliding with multiple parked vehicles. In total, seven cars were damaged—five were directly hit, and two others sustained damage from flying debris, resulting in shattered rear windshields. Footage from the scene shows severe front-end damage to vehicles from several brands, including Audi, Li Auto, and Tesla; some cars were tilted or had their hoods crushed inward from the impact. According to preliminary assessments by parking lot staff, the crash may have been caused by driver fatigue. Fortunately, no one was inside any of the parked vehicles at the time, and the driver of the Tesla was unharmed. The offending vehicle has since been towed away, and traffic authorities have launched an investigation. Affected car owners and insurance companies are scheduled to meet on the morning of the same day to discuss compensation matters.
