Volkswagen is set to launch a new all-electric SUV in China—the ID. Unyx 08—exclusively for the Chinese market and co-developed by Volkswagen Anhui and XPeng Motors. The vehicle features a completely button-free interior, equipped with dual 14.96-inch 2.4K-resolution central control displays and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, emphasizing an “AI-first” approach and an intelligent cockpit experience tailored to Chinese consumers’ preferences for large screens and voice control. Additional highlights include a 20-speaker audio system, 10-way power-adjustable leather seats, a 1.74-square-meter electrochromic panoramic sunroof, and dual wireless charging pads. Measuring 5 meters in length with a 3.03-meter wheelbase, the ID. Unyx 08 will be available in single- or dual-motor configurations, paired with either an 82 kWh or 95 kWh battery pack, delivering a maximum CLTC range of up to 730 kilometers. As part of Volkswagen’s accelerated localization strategy, this model aims to help the automaker address declining EV sales in China.
