Mercedes-Benz is set to launch its new luxury electric multi-purpose vehicle, the VLE, in the U.S., offering an extended-wheelbase version. Built on the Van Architecture platform and inspired by the Vision V concept car, the VLE boasts an ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.25. The initial model will be the VLE 300 (272 hp), followed by the VLE 400 (409 hp, accelerating from 0–60 mph in just 6.4 seconds), both available with all-wheel drive. Equipped with a 115 kWh battery pack, the VLE delivers over 700 km (approx. 435 miles) of WLTP-rated range and can gain 221 miles of range in just 14 minutes via fast charging. The vehicle features Airmatic air suspension, rear-axle steering, and 800V technology to enhance efficiency and handling. Interior seating configurations range from six to eight passengers, with standard three-zone climate control, an augmented reality head-up display, and a Burmester 3D sound system. Optional features include a 31.1-inch 8K rear entertainment screen and power-adjustable seats. Cargo capacity stands at 28 cubic feet, with additional specifications and pricing details to be revealed closer to launch.
