Leapmotor's new all-electric model, the A05, recently appeared in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's (MIIT) 405th batch of the "Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products." The vehicle measures 4,200 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,560 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,605 mm. Positioned as a compact all-electric sedan, it will directly compete against models such as the BYD Dolphin and Geely Galaxy Starship. Notably, the A05 offers optional features including a two-tone body, dual front-facing cameras, and a LiDAR sensor—bringing advanced intelligent driving hardware down to the small car segment. In terms of powertrain, the A05 will be available with two motor options rated at 70 kW and 90 kW, respectively, paired with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries supplied by Gotion High-Tech, Zhengli New Energy, or Lingxiao Energy.
