According to foreign media reports, Honda Motor Co. has decided to halt development of three electric vehicle (EV) models as part of a comprehensive overhaul of its electrification strategy and will pay up to ¥1.7 trillion (approximately $10.6 billion) in compensation to related suppliers. This move is part of Honda's reassessment of its EV development path. The company previously disclosed that this strategic shift could result in total losses of approximately ¥2.5 trillion. This significant pivot underscores the challenges and cost pressures Honda faces in its transition toward electrification.
