The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Finance, and the National Development and Reform Commission recently jointly issued a notice launching pilot programs for integrated hydrogen energy applications. The notice specifies that fuel cell vehicles will be prioritized for large-scale deployment in commercial vehicle scenarios, particularly medium- and heavy-duty trucks for medium- and long-haul transportation and cold-chain logistics, with a focus on developing hydrogen-powered highways and hydrogen corridors. Additionally, the use of fuel cell vehicles is encouraged in public bus services, urban logistics, sanitation, and construction waste transport, while exploring potential applications in passenger vehicles such as government fleet cars and ride-hailing vehicles to accelerate the diversification of hydrogen-powered transportation.
