Tesla and LG Energy Solution have signed an agreement to jointly invest $4.3 billion in building a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery manufacturing plant in Lansing, Michigan. The batteries produced at this facility will be exclusively supplied to Tesla’s Megapack 3 energy storage system production line in Houston. The project is expected to commence operations in 2027, aiming to enhance Tesla's localized supply capabilities for its large-scale energy storage products and further advance its clean energy strategy.
