On March 17, 2026, Buick officially launched its first all-electric MPV—the Electra Zhi Jing Shijia EV—offered exclusively in a single "Luxury Edition" trim priced at RMB 489,900. Built on the Ultium battery platform, the new model features a 96 kWh battery pack, delivering a CLTC-rated range of 601 kilometers. It debuts Buick’s 900V 6C ultra-fast charging technology, enabling a 10% to 80% charge in just 11.5 minutes. In terms of safety, 78% of the vehicle’s body structure is made of high-strength steel, and the battery has passed rigorous multi-layer safety validations to ensure it remains fire-free even under thermal runaway conditions. For intelligent driving, the vehicle integrates Momenta’s R6 large AI model, supporting urban Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) without reliance on high-definition maps. With this launch, Buick becomes the only brand offering MPVs across all powertrain types—gasoline, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric. The new EV continues Buick’s “Golden Promise” ownership benefits and introduces an additional incentive of up to RMB 20,000 in trade-in subsidies specifically for Tesla owners, accelerating its push into the premium new-energy MPV market.
