The all-new BMW i3 electric sedan will arrive in the U.S. market later this year as a 2027 model, signaling the imminent end of the current i4’s production run. At the i3 launch event in Germany, BMW product chief Bernd Körber confirmed that the i4 will not remain on sale for much longer and that the i3 will temporarily take its place. Although the i4 received a mid-cycle update just in 2024, production is expected to conclude by the end of 2026. A true successor to the i4—based on BMW’s upcoming Neue Klasse platform—is likely to follow, and the next-generation 4 Series will also be built on this new architecture. For now, the introduction of the i3 effectively marks the end of the current i4’s lifecycle.
