At Xiaomi's Spring New Product Launch Event on the evening of March 19, Lei Jun provided a detailed introduction to the door handle safety design of the new-generation Xiaomi SU7. The vehicle’s door handles feature a triple-redundancy mechanism: an external mechanical pull handle allows emergency door opening from outside after a collision, automatically unlocking upon impact; the door lock system includes an independent redundant power supply, ensuring normal unlocking even if both the main traction battery and the auxiliary 12V battery lose power; and inside the cabin, an emergency mechanical pull handle enables direct door opening without needing to disengage the central locking system. Lei Jun emphasized that this design fully complies with China’s new national standard for automotive door handles, which will take effect in 2027, significantly enhancing occupant escape safety in extreme scenarios.
