The first production-line prototype of the WE20TG-AA 2.0T hybrid-dedicated engine, jointly developed by Changan Automobile and Dongan Power, has recently rolled off the assembly line at Dongan Power’s smart factory, marking a critical milestone in the project. Remarkably, the project achieved this milestone just 15 months after its launch—setting a new industry record for development speed from concept to prototype. The engine incorporates multiple cutting-edge technologies, including 500-bar ultra-high-pressure fuel injection (a first for globally mass-produced 2.0T hybrid engines), an ultra-high compression ratio, and deep Miller cycle technology. Its overall performance ranks among the best in the world for mass-produced 2.0L turbocharged direct-injection engines. According to schedule, the engine is set to enter mass production in the second half of 2026.
