According to Germany's Manager Magazin, Uber is nearing an agreement to acquire Blacklane, a German premium chauffeur service provider. Sources familiar with the matter said the two parties have entered the final stages of negotiations and are close to signing a contract, though specific terms and valuation details remain undisclosed. Founded in 2011, Blacklane operates in over 40 countries and counts Mercedes-Benz and the family office of German billionaire Carsten Maschmeyer among its major shareholders. The company is reportedly valued at "several hundred million euros." If completed, the deal would significantly strengthen Uber’s presence in the premium mobility and high-margin chauffeur service segments, marking a strategic expansion beyond standard ride-hailing into more diversified, high-value offerings. Both companies have declined to comment on the matter.
