On March 26, GAC Motor’s AION UT officially entered production at Magna’s plant in Graz, Austria, becoming the second GAC model to roll off the local assembly line after the AION V. This move marks a further deepening of GAC and Magna’s localized production partnership in Europe, accelerating GAC’s expansion into the European market. The facility features flexible production lines capable of assembling internal combustion engine vehicles, hybrids, and battery-electric vehicles, backed by 125 years of automotive manufacturing experience. Previously, XPeng Motors also selected this plant to produce two new models, scheduled to begin mass production in Q3 2025. Wei Haigang, General Manager of GAC International, stated that Europe is a key market in GAC’s global strategy and that localized production enables the company to serve local customers more efficiently.
